Clear Law are showing their support for Tinnitus Awareness Week, which begins today.
The campaign, which will run until Sunday 8th February, sees organisations across the country stepping up to raise awareness of tinnitus, a condition which affects one in 10 UK people in some form every day.
Symptoms of tinnitus range from a ringing in the ears to buzzing, hissing or a constant roar. Around 600,000 people in the UK are seriously affected by tinnitus and it can have a detrimental effect on quality of life, with many suffering bouts of anxiety and finding social situations difficult. In addition, sufferers can have difficulty sleeping and have problems concentrating at work.
Clear Law help people who have suffered with tinnitus as a result of their work, where significant protection hasn’t been provided and workers suffer problems with their hearing as a result. The Noise at Work Act now makes it a legal requirement for all employers to make sure that they are preventing or reducing the risks to the health and safety of their employees from noise exposure at work.
