A national poll by hearing loss charity Action on Hearing Loss has found that one in ten people don’t know what tinnitus is.

When quizzed on the condition, 3% thought it meant “big ears” and a further 4% believed it was a “repetitive strain injury”.

The results of the poll, released during the British Tinnitus Association’s (BTA’s) ‘Tinnitus Awareness Week’, show more needs to be done to raise awareness of the condition.

Tinnitus Awareness Week; an annual initiative by the BTA, aims to bring tinnitus to the attention of people across the UK and the treatments available to sufferers.

Many organizations are showing their support for the charity and spreading awareness of the condition across the UK.

At Clear Law, we are backing the initiative and hope to help in raising awareness of tinnitus, its causes and treatments. For more information about the condition, view our infographic here.
